COVID-19 Safety Precautions

As of June 16, 2020 the Chicago Riverwalk is open with the following restrictions:
The Riverwalk will be open to the public from 5 a.m to 9 p.m. daily, according to a city press release.
Runners, walkers and bikers will be able to access the path between Lakeshore Drive and Lake Street from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. The city attraction will close at 10 a.m. for cleaning. At 11 a.m., restaurants and other vendors will open until 9 p.m.
Face coverings are required and gatherings of more than 10 are prohibited. The Riverwalk will be accessible at Lake Street and through ramps between Franklin and Lake Street and State and Columbus streets. There will be attendants at each entrance to make sure capacity limits are not exceeded.
The Riverwalk will be blocked at the bridges between LaSalle and Columbus, and you must use the stairways to continue on the path. Riverwalk ambassadors will also walk around to make sure individuals are social distancing.
