Rest – yes, it’s ok to take a break

Rest. Breathe. Relax. Ground.

Do you do these things? Really thoughtfully, mindfully practice any of these?

It’s important

How many of you have a to-do list miles long? How about all those project ideas, how many are still sitting on your hard drive in a document?

Personally, I’m constantly feeling behind or overwhelmed because the ideas never stop. I rarely ever get to them all. Or I get to them but then move on to the next without ever finishing the one I’ve started.

This all makes me feel like stopping to rest is a waste of time.

It’s not.

Without rest, we burn out. Our brains lose sharpness and our mental capacity diminishes. I don’t think that I’m the only one who experiences this. Am I?

Types of rest

I came across this article on seven types of rest and wanted to share it with you. We don’t always think about all of these when we decide we need to take a break.

Here is the list. Check out the article to read more and gain some insight into the importance of each one.

Taking the time to just be

I actually bring this point up quite a bit. Likely because it’s what works for me the most. What do you do to recharge? Do you have a go-to way of resting that really just grounds you and gets you back to being in a place where you can focus and get work done?

Share! I’m always looking for other options to help myself and others with their workflows, work/life balance and being in a place that is enjoyable to be when in the midst of working on projects and life in general.

Let us know here in the comments or get in touch with me. Maybe I’ll try something new and share that down the road.
