Let’s roll with this week’s challenge. It’s time to get motivated to get out and create! (Trying to listen to my own advice.)
This week’s #MondayMotivation is a little old school. I love doing this though, it’s such a great exercise to get us thinking and creating with more intent.
Shoot a ‘roll’ of film for a day for a couple of weeks. At the end of the two weeks look at the photos and see what is important to you, what you’re drawn to. No cheating – pick a roll of film – 12, 24 or 36 exposure. Only shoot that many images. What happens when you do this? How do you feel while you’re out shooting with this limitation?
If you need further inspiration, Daniel Gregory always has very insightful topics on his podcast. This one in particular goes perfectly with the one-roll challenge.
You can listen to it here: Notions of the precious photographic moment
As always, I’d love for you to share not only your images but especially this challenge, I’d love to hear your thoughts. How did the challenge change the way you photograph? Did it change anything? Also, if you ever have any questions about any of these challenges please feel free to contact me.
