These harsh shadows when it’s bright out combined with the scraggly old trees always fascinate me.
I’m not really sure but I’m always drawn to them. The lines, the shapes, the harsh contrast all draw me in and I feel compelled to photograph them.
This is a group of trees at the nearby Lords Park which is walking distance from my house. I wandered around there a bit, just down the little creek that meanders through and took a few shots the other day. It was nice to get out of the house but I stayed off the paths and didn’t stick around too long.
I knew I would make this black and white when I shot it but as I was playing around with DXO’s Nik Collection, Silver Efex Pro to be exact this old-time yellowy color seemed to work best (for today anyway).
So, just thought I’d share today. I keep saying I need to get back to putting my work on my own site first so I’m listening to my own advice for once.
